Generals 2 is the first RTS game to be developed under the Bioware brand but is actually an amalgamation of the Victory Games studio setup by EA in February 2011 to develop a new C&C game, it is developed across various studios with the executive producer and core team based in Los Angeles.

Unlike C&C games released over the past 7 years it will not use the SAGE engine but the Frostbite2 engine, more widely associated with FPS games, in fact it's the first RTS game to use this engine. This is cause for concern for modders and mappers because no Frostbite2-based game has been even remotely customisable.

In keeping with Generals 1 the storyline does not appear to have the rich cannon of the Tiberium universe, the premise being that in the near future, world leaders are mere seconds from signing a global treaty and bringing an end to war as we know it when a devastating terrorist attack rips through the peace conference, killing all in attendance. In a world left with no politicians, diplomats, or activists, only the Generals remain. Itís up to you to assume their roles, command of their forces, and put an end to global terrorism once and for all.

Command & Conquer Generals 2 is being developed by Victory Bioware.
